What is a Remedial Massage?
This massage treatment is an effective “hands on” treatment offered by qualified staff to help treat and prevent muscle injuries, and help reduce soreness and pain. Our remedial massage incorporates a deep tissue massage with therapeutic techniques to provide an all encompassing treatment to relieve pain and rebuild damaged tissues.
The massage techniques incorporated in a remedial massage will help both deep and superficial tissues, skilled manipulation may also be combined in the treatments to help correct and normalise the muscles and ligaments and help relieve pain.
Your muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia respond to touch, your sensitive trigger points in the muscles maybe transferring pain to various parts of the body. Minor imbalances of muscles or ligaments may result in many associated pains or discomfort. Headaches often originate in the muscles of the neck and shoulders and the pain from angina may come from the hyper-contraction of the chest muscles, lower back pain and sciatic pain often originate from muscle tension rather than vertebral disc problems.
With the additional training in anatomy and physiology, our therapists have additional knowledge and understanding in order to carry out an assessment and provide an on-going treatment plan which may incorporate additional exercises to carry out at home in between treatments in order to help strengthen the core muscles.
